Neighbourhood watches (NHW) are an integral part of any community, being the eyes and ears of police, law enforcement and security companies. Criminals will more than likely be deterred if they are aware that local residents are on the alert and ready to report suspicious behaviour. Where neighbourhoods have weak or no neighbourhood structures, crime is more likely to occur. By getting involved you will get to know your neighbours and by looking out for one another, you will build a safer and stronger community.
There are currently nineteen neighbourhood watches operating within the SAPS policing precinct, divided as follows into two policing sectors:
Sector One : is made up of Berg and Ranger Road NHW; Clovelly NHW, Highway Mountain NHW, Peers Hill NHW, Risiview NHW, Silverglades NHW, Valley North NHW, ValylandWest NHW and Fish Hoek Central NHW.
Sector Two: is made up of Capri NHW, Chapmans Peak NHW, Danieldale NHW, DASCRO NHW, De Goedehoop NHW, Faerie Knowe NHW, Milkwood Park NHW, San Michel NHW, Sunnydale NHW and Sun Valley NHW.
